40 Hours. One Cause. One Big Difference.

Calypso Radio’s 40-Hr Live Marathon in Aid of Puttinu Cares

Saturday, 17 October at 4:00 AM – Sunday, 18 October at 8:00 PM

📍 Calypso Radio Studios, Luqa

40 hours non-stop

This October, Calypso Radio is going live for 40 hours non-stop in aid of Puttinu Cares.

Station Manager and presenter Gordon Pace will take on the 40-hour challenge, extending last year’s marathon by another 5 hours, all to raise funds and support the important work of Puttinu Cares.

Listeners are invited to join us at the studio, tune in throughout the marathon and, most importantly, help us raise as much as possible for this important cause.

Our Goal

This year, our fundraising efforts will support Puttinu Cares’ next project: building a chapel next to the Puttinu Cares apartments in Central London, UK.

The chapel will provide a dedicated place of prayer, peace and reflection for patients and their families who are staying at the apartments while receiving treatment abroad.

Our aim is to raise funds to build this chapel.

Every donation, big or small, can make a difference.

How can you help

How can you help

There are several ways you can support the Calypso 40-Hour Marathon:

  • Visit our studio in Luqa during the marathon and make a donation in person.
  • Call the donation number provided during the marathon.
  • Tune in to Calypso Radio and follow the marathon throughout the 40 hours.

Every contribution will help us get closer to our fundraising goal.

Holy Rosary

What’s Happening During the Marathon?

What’s Happening During the Marathon?

During sickness, prayer and faith can play an important role in providing comfort and strength.

On Sunday, 18 October at 5:15 AM, the Holy Rosary usually broadcast on Calypso Radio will be transmitted live from the Sanctuary of Madonna tal-Grazzja in Żabbar.

Everyone is invited to attend and join us in prayer.

The 40-hour marathon will feature:

  • Music throughout the 40 hours – from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and 2000s, together with the best of the Maltese scene and Italian classics.
  • Fun games and challenges with our presenters.
  • Stories and insights from Puttinu Cares, including how donations help families.
  • Real stories of hope from families who have received support from Puttinu Cares.

And, of course, 40 hours of Gordon Pace live on air!

About Puttinu Cares - VO/0087

Puttinu Cares is a children’s cancer support group founded in Malta in October 2002 by Dr Victor Calvagna and Mr Rennie Zerafa.

The organisation provides holistic support to children with cancer and their families, offering emotional, practical and financial assistance throughout their difficult journey. Puttinu Cares works closely with the oncology team at the Sir Anthony Mamo Oncology Centre, supporting families according to their individual needs.

When patients require specialised treatment abroad, Puttinu Cares also provides free accommodation for patients and their families in the UK, helping to reduce the financial and emotional burden of travelling for treatment.

Through donations, sponsors, volunteers and fundraising initiatives, Puttinu Cares continues to support hundreds of families. Its vision is to ensure that families travelling abroad for treatment have a safe and comfortable home away from home without having to worry about accommodation costs.

Special Thanks

A special thank you to Talbot & Bons for supporting our marathon once again. We truly appreciate their continued generosity and support in helping us make a difference.
