On October 14, 1975, at exactly 1:13 PM, an RAF Vulcan Bomber exploded over the residential heart of Żabbar. While the crash brought a terrifying "Inferno" to the streets, the community believes that a miracle saved their town from total destruction.
Led by a licensed, born-and-bred local guide with a deep passion for our island's history, we will trace the exact flight path of the XM645 and hear personal stories of survival and tragedy never before shared on a public tour.
What you’ll experience:
Walk the Path of the Vulcan: Visit the actual impact zones, including Sanctuary Street where an aircraft wing famously fell between houses, and spot the unique architectural repairs funded by the RAF.
The Human Story: Learn about the brave crew and local residents, whose lives were changed in a single afternoon.
Visit the Sanctuary: Step inside the beautiful Baroque Sanctuary of Our Lady of Graces, the spiritual centre of the community's recovery.
Exclusive Museum Entry: End your journey at the Żabbar Sanctuary Museum, Malta’s first purpose-built museum, to see the actual aircraft wreckage, engine parts, and striking historical photographs.
