We’ll be visiting the Grand Master’s Palace, stepping inside one of the most important buildings in the Maltese Islands to discover stories most visitors never hear.

The palace is the most significant address in Valletta that has quietly ruled Malta for over 450 years.

During our visit, we’ll explore how this single building has been home to three different rulers of Malta: the Grand Masters of the Knights of Saint John, the British Governors, and today, the President of the Republic.

One palace. Three eras. One continuous seat of power.

We’ll be visiting the Armoury, home to the largest collection of armour in Malta. But how was all that armour actually worn? And is it true that once a knight was fully armoured… he could barely move?

We’ll also come across one of the palace’s most unexpected sights - a crocodile in a glass case.

Why is it here? How did it end up in Valletta?

During the tour, we’ll uncover why the Grand Master chose to run his office from inside his own bedroom, what astronomy has to do with a palace built for warriors, and how this building links Malta to one of the strangest royal alliances in European history, involving Russia.

A palace you think you know. Stories you’ve probably never heard.

The tour will be conducted in Maltese, in small groups led by licensed guides. An English-language tour may be offered if there is sufficient demand.
