Fort Saint Elmo: the Grand Harbour’s Guardian
Since 1417, the site of Fort Saint Elmo has stood as a sentinel over the Mediterranean. First fortified in 1488 with a watchtower dedicated to Saint Elmo, it was rebuilt by the Knights of Saint John in 1552, unaware they were crafting the stage for one of history's most epic sieges.
In 1565, during the Great Siege of Malta, this star-shaped fortress became a symbol of defiance. Against overwhelming odds, the Knights fought with unmatched bravery, their legendary stand forever etched into history.
Let our professional guides immerse you in the heroic tales of this fateful battle, where courage clashed with destiny, and history was written in blood.
