Camigliatello silano – Special sagra funghi

Friday  6/10

Departure on Airmalta flight KM640 to Catania at 6 am.  Group has to reach airport by 3.30am.  On arrival in Catania at 6.45 am, after a short breakfast, we board our coach and proceed for Messina to board the ferry, and crossover to Italy. We proceed to our Heavenly Mountain Holiday Resort – Camigliatello Silano with a couple of stops, as needed. A delicious lunch awaits us on arrival in our centrally located comfortable Hotel  before we take up our rooms. Later we shall leave for one of the attractions of this holiday, Lake Arva in Lorica. Just 25 km away. An exceptional excursion on this fantastic big lake and also, if available , a ride on the famous Trenino where we shall sing to our hearts’ content popular songs. This month is specially dedicated to celebrate their extraordinary local  product Mushrooms. Let us join in the celebrations in the streets this evening  A special dinner awaits us to mark the start of our holiday in Calabria.

Saturday 7/10

After our Buffet breakfast today, we shall leave for San Giovanni in Fiore just 10km away, where we find the oldest and most important Monument L’Abbazia Fiorense whose origin dates back to beginning of 1200 but still retains so many of its original features. Lunch awaits us in our Hotel. Time to relax a bit afterwards. The Giants of Fallistro among the most important natural biogenetic reserves in the world form part of our human Heritage. Nearby it is possible to visit the big National Park and the Botanic and Geological Garden, the TREE Museum founded by the famous Italian TV scientist Piero Angela. A recommended walk for those who can make it, to catch sight of the wolf of the Sila Mountains. A delicious dinner in hotel later and a special evening with music will also provide all the fun we need.

Sunday 8/10

Today our main attraction is a visit to the Famous Sagra Funghi. The streets are packed with stalls all around our Hotel and there will also be time for shopping of local products. For those who wish to attend Sunday Mass there will also be time to do so...A delicious lunch awaits us in the Hotel after which one may enjoy a rest or take an afternoon stroll along the busy centre full of shops and attractions. This is our last evening here, (A SPECIAL CELEBRATION) so better make the most of it. Enjoy your last special dinner with superb entertainment. Join in the fun and great music this evening as prepared by our Special DJ!

Monday 9/10

Buffet breakfast and later in the morning we board our coach to start our journey back. We shall be stopping to visit a famous town in Calabria, the big important city of Cosenza. A really fascinating town starting from its huge pedestrian area, the famous Corso Mazzini full of shops etc. We then proceed to cross over to Sicily. On reaching Catania we shall also visit a big shopping centre CENTRO Sicilia (where there is also Primark) for our last shopping before we reach Catania airport in the evening.  AirMalta flight KM 643 leaves Catania airport at 23.30 and is scheduled to arrive in Malta at 00.10(ten minutes past midnight)
